About the role

As a Desktop Publisher in Hästens, you are working deeply with projects that requires attention to details, such projects are Hästens Catalog that is distributed in many languages worldwide, Hästens Pricelist that is distributed in many currency versions worldwide.

In these kinds of projects, you develop Hästens Graphic Profile, you add/remove/edit pages to create an even better result, you place text into the correct place, this includes translations, and you care how the text flows in different languages.

You make sure the products show the correct prices in the master files you create.

Key priorities:

- Catalog.

- Pricelist.

- Developing Hästens Graphic Profile and Guidelines.

- Final Art.

- Create Content.

- Raising the Hästens Standards.

Whenever there is an idea, for example, an idea about creating a page/spread in the catalog, you take that idea and create a “storyboard/visual sketch” this is to shorten the feedback loop for the Creative Director and others in the team to see, is the idea going to work?

By doing this for the entire catalog you help us in creating good planning, to see what is missing? What is to be removed? Which pages are missing an image? And you see this is creating a feedback loop for the photo-productions, this is creating a feedback loop for the copywriter, this is creating a feedback loop for the team to think about the disposition, to see is this the best sequence to tell a story?

You create layout that enhances the message of images and texts, you enhance the storytelling.

You are comfortable with building large documents that links to images and text-layers perfectly, providing the best work for the ones who proceeds with the next steps in the value-chain.

Experience and other requirements

Experience

- Relevant academic degree within graphic design is required.

- 6+ years of relevant practical experience within Graphic Design and Production Artistry.

- 6+ years of Adobe Creative Cloud core applications experience is a must (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, etc.)

- Experience working with large productions that involves language and currency versions.

Other requirements

- Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish; written and spoken.

- Setting targets/goals in your OKR’s that challenge you to create an opportunity for you to grow and become better.

- Be able to choose the ideas that will create the most value and make them happen the soonest and then continue with what is next.

Additional responsibilities:

Website Layout, Marketing Guidelines, Care Instructions, Brochures, Advertisements, In-Store Communication, Video Content for Digital Screens using AppleTV, Campaign Books and more.

Your communication and organization skills, and attention to detail will combine to deliver compelling imagery and enhance the overall brand aesthetic. You will utilize your experience, retouching expertise & your desire for absolute perfection to bring images to life across editorial, print, in-store, OOH and digital/e-commerce. You will also have the opportunity to partake in upcoming photo & film productions and be a creative liaison in how we shape our visual storytelling, while always striving for the highest level of quality. You have a strong point of view on image quality, colour theory & best process for optimal results, & when you get started, you see your vision through all the way to the finish line.

Responsibilities

- Using Adobe Photoshop, perform complex image work, deliver colour accuracy across deliverables, and occasionally combine multiple exposures and replace environments/backgrounds
- Receive creative direction from Photographers, Creative Studio Lead and Creative Director and implement any changes necessary
- Review current standards and practices against industry standards and recommend changes to stay up-to-date and optimize efficiency
- Maintain digital asset file organization through our media bank, naming conventions, colour space, crop, file size and other technical specifications
- Production of consistent, high-quality results in a timely manner
- Familiarizing yourself with our current photo guidelines, previous, current, and upcoming asset productions to build a fundamental understanding of the level of quality we expect
- Ensure colour consistency across product collections, matched to fabric samples, and across traditional and digital finishing
- Work with Photographers and external retouching agencies and colour grading studios to maintain full visual integrity when working through external vendors
- On set quality assurance and color expert
- Provide input and insights for upcoming content productions to ensure a smooth post-production workflow
- Opportunity to impact future photo and film productions if desired


Skills and requirements



- Expert with Photoshop on MacOS, proficient with all other Adobe Creative Cloud products
- Highly proficient in all aspects of digital image quality control and output. File size, light, color balance, and retouching
- 5+ years of commercial retouching experience
- A portfolio with before/after samples that demonstrates your ability to bring to life premium visuals, including commercial still life, editorial & lifestyle imagery
- Fluent in English and Swedish
- Familiarity with all studio tools, lighting, technical software and systems
- Formal photography schooling is a big plus; a four-year degree is preferable in any of the following concentrations: Communication Arts, Photography, Fine Arts
- Interest for video editing and colour grading is a plus

- Formal photography schooling is a big plus; a four-year degree is preferable in any of the following concentrations: Communication Arts, Photography, Fine Arts

Position summary

Join us during a time of exciting worldwide expansion as Graphic Designer. In this role within our Global Marketing team, you will support Hästens primarily in creating visual communication tools (e.g. communication campaigns, digital still and moving materials, print materials such as catalogues, price lists, in-store materials, etc.) that engage and convert our customers and partners, as well as specific problem-solving and support for internal projects.

Hästens is in a high-growth phase as a company, so this position will be pivotal in supporting the global teams responsible for executing the organizational growth.

Primary responsibilities

Create outstanding visual communication tools

Push the visual communication of Hästens to a higher level by creating creative assets focused on engaging and converting our customers and partners that impress, inspire and are of the highest quality standards and aesthetics. Creative assets include but are not limited to catalogs, website, price lists, social media, emails, print, in-store communication, Apple TV, iOS applications, animations, Keynote/PowerPoint presentations, service guides, care instructions, Marketing/Brand guidelines, store design guidelines, etc.).

Digital content (including animations) will be a primary focus, so our marketing automation tools (paid media, CRM, newsletters, website, PR and Social Media, etc.) can perform at the highest level.

Ensure that creative content and corresponding creative templates are suitable for deployment in different regions and languages. This includes the continuous evolution of the Hästens Marketing Guidelines to document how great graphic design is executed for internal and external partners.

Demonstrate excellence in color space, CRI (color rendering index), saturated colors, and skin tones. Outstanding understanding for image sizes and color space to use the correct image files for different mediums (print, digital, PDFs, presentation etc.).

Collaborate with external agencies when and where required.

Co-manage the request, approval, and delivery flow for graphic design assets across our organization

Respond to approved requests from the Hästens organization and deliver visual communication tools on time, in full and in the highest quality in line with Hästens guidelines and brand manual.

Engage in project planning with the entire Creative Atelier team to ensure appropriate workload and quality management.

Manage approval process for visual communication tools.

Collaborate with key stakeholders outside the Creative Atelier team to ensure learning and cross-functional integration.

Optimize/retouch/edit photo and video assets when required and appropriate

Support external and internal retouching capabilities

Experience



1. Relevant academic degree within graphic design, marketing or digital is required

2. 6+ years of relevant practical experience within Graphic Design, ideally on both agency and client-side

3. 6+ years of Adobe Creative Cloud core applications experience is a must (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, etc.)

4. Experience in creating and deploying content for AppleTV is a plus

5. Experience in 3D software is a plus

6. Experience in creating templates and presentations in PowerPoint and Keynote are a plus

7. Experience in using tools such as macOS and Microsoft Office365 (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint/OneDrive), Slack, Zoom, Social Media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, WeChat, TikTok)

Other requirements

Position can be based in the European Time Zone ±2h to CET, but physical location in Köping, Sweden, is preferred.
