During 15 intense and exciting months, our Operations Graduate Program will give you a holistic view of our operational and logistic activities, including both the local and global perspective. You will be working with the technologies of tomorrow, building the products of the future – electric, connected, and automated. In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions.


You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you.?You will experience several local and international job rotations and work on business-critical projects developing your competencies for tomorrow. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. We are now looking to strengthening our Digitalization & IT unit with a Data Analyst. The unit's purpose is to both safeguard the more “traditional” IT deliveries as well as to be the experts leading the way towards full utilization of the VSF concept (Volvo Smart Factory) initiated in Köping. The Digital & IT team has a strong collaboration with our Industrial Engineering unit and will also have collaborative relations all over the factory. This unit is quite new within the Köping plant, but with the clear ambition to grow extensively to enable the plants ambitions in the digitalization scope. We are looking for an ambitious and creative new talent who is eager to take on challenges presented in the context of data analysis and other areas of big data management. The Data Analyst role offers excellent opportunities for personal development within Digitalization & IT, with a primary focus on information management and data analysis. You will be a key player in our organization, collaborating with various functions in the Volvo Group. This position is pivotal in our Industry 4.0 journey. Reporting directly to the director of Digitalization & IT, you will be based in Köping. Your main responsibilities include developing Big Data capabilities, creating predictive models, proposing business solutions, and optimizing data visualization. Additionally, you will oversee information management processes and collaborate cross-functionally on projects. Job Description:
As a Data Analyst, you will be given the opportunity to grow within the area of Digitalization & IT, focusing on information management and data analysis. You will become a key person in our organization, as you will collaborate with several functions within the Volvo Group on many different levels. The role will give you the opportunity to develop your competencies within the area of data analysis and you will play a crucial role on our journey towards Industry 4.0. Also, you will be able to get a clear and deep understanding of the business, its processes, and the needs associated with your competence area. You will report directly to the director of Digitalization & IT and you will be located at our plant in Köping.


The ambition for this role is to be a link between Digitalization & IT and Industrial Engineering, Maintenance, Production and other parts of the organization, leading and coordinating projects in the information/data management area, coaching all related organizational units with guidance in the field of Big Data and Advanced Analytics. Your responsibilities will be to:
Develop the area of Big Data by, e.g.
Identify valuable data sources
Create predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
Propose solutions and strategies to reach business goals
Create ways to visualize data based on business needs
Review, advise and communicate around information/data management processes and flows
Understand the complete analytics chain from storing, structuring, modeling, to visualizing and translating data into actionable insights

We are now looking for strengthening our Engineering Technologies Department with a Data Scientist. The department purpose is to secure future factory state by investigating and developing new machining and assembly technologies with both local and global functions within GTO. The team consist of 10 specialists within different technology areas. A lot of the work are organized in projects and we can have different roles in different projects such as experts, project managers or work package leaders. We are looking for a creative team player, who is eager to analyze data and who, like the rest of us, strives towards being the best transmission factory in the world.


Main areas of responsibility


As a Data Scientist, you will have a great opportunity for personal development. You will be given the chance to grow within engineering and become an expert that cooperate with universities and develop completely new methods and spread knowledge globally within Volvo. The role will give you the opportunity to develop your competence within the area of data science and be a part of our journey towards Industry 4.0. As a Data Scientist, your main responsibilities will be to:

Review, advice and communicate Big Data Analytics

Work cross-functionally with different teams within and outside the plant, making sure and take responsibility for the progress within your work
Participate in projects and be a leader of projects related to your area of expertise

Because you are the front-runner concerning analytics within engineering, it is therefore important that you like to think “outside the box”. Of course, you have a clear customer focus and a service mind which is essential as a support function. You will be the main key to translate data into business insights and this requires a high level of analytical skills. As mentioned, a capacity to take responsibility for the whole Big Data chain is critical.
